Key milestones from early planning meetings to formal establishment and our inaugural launch.
2025
Planning and consultation
Representatives from Chinese community organisations across Queensland met on multiple occasions to discuss a united voice, community service, and the formation of the committee—building shared direction, structure, and consensus ahead of launch.
Jan 2026
Committee established
The Queensland Chinese Affairs Committee was formally established as a united non-profit body representing legally registered Chinese associations in Queensland, dedicated to dialogue with federal, state, and local government.
Jul 2026
Official launch
The official launch was held at Tattersall's Club in Brisbane, bringing together member organisations and community representatives to mark a new chapter for the Chinese community in Queensland.

Peter Zhuang
Chairman
Chairman of the Queensland Chinese Affairs Committee. Represents the Chinese community in dialogue with federal, state, and local government.
Chen Yimin
Vice Chair
President of Universal Education & Multicultural Exchange Association Inc. (UEMEA). Originally from China, Alan Chen came to Australia in 1990 and has actively supported local multicultural community events, promoting a vibrant, harmonious, and diverse society.
Chen Fan
Vice Chair
President of Mainland Chinese Society Queensland. Recipient of the Centenary Medal of Federation of Australia and the 2001 International Year of Volunteers award. He has long supported Chinese arts, cultural exchange, and multicultural community development in Queensland.
He Ying
Vice Chair
Australian lawyer. An ANU law honours graduate with more than 12 years of legal practice experience, leading a professional legal team serving Australian and international clients. She founded the Australia-Asia Women's Association, served as the 28th President of the Brisbane Chinese Lions Club, and actively supports multicultural exchange, community service, and social inclusion.
